Lynch vs Stratus Steel Cage Match Set for WWE Payback 2023
The highly anticipated match featuring Becky Lynch taking on Trish Stratus in a Steel Cage match has been officially scheduled at WWE Payback 2023 PLE.
The conflict between Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch began when they lost their Women’s Tag Team Championships to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. This also resulted in a fight at Night of Champions PPV event, where Status won the match with the assistance of Zoey Stark.
Lynch and Stratus recently faced each other on the August 14 episode of RAW, where the match concluded with a countdown, leading to a draw. After the match, Adam Pearce told Trish that since she would face his
WWE promoted the Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus match for Payback 2023 PLE in international markets and through WWE Main Event broadcasts. At the August 21 episode of RAW, WWE officially announced that Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch will face each other in a Steel Cage match at Payback 2023 PLE.
During the episode, a confrontation was also seen between Lynch and Stratus where Stratus mentioned that the upcoming Steel Cage match will mark her very first experience in a Steel Cage match throughout her entire career. After that, Lynch also confidently stated that she will defeat Stratus at Payback 2023 PLE.
Becky Lynch is also set to face Zoey Stark in a Falls Count Anywhere match on RAW next week, which will be the go-home RAW episode for Payback 2023.
WWE Payback 2023 PLE is scheduled for September 2, 2023, at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA. WWE Women’s World Title Championship match is also set for the event between Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez.
