NJPW Dominion 6.9(2024)

NJPW Dominion 6.9(2024) is scheduled to take place on June 9, 2024. The event will once again take place at Osaka-Jo Hall in Osaka, Japan, which has been the tradition since the year 2009. This is the 16th event in the Dominion series.

Dominion 6.9 will start at 3 AM ET(4 PM JST local time). The coverage will be available via NJPW World Streaming service worldwide. The final of the Best of Super Junior 31 tournament is set to headline the event.

STORYLINE

IWGP World Heavyweight Championship: After Jon Moxley won IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, he called out Shota Umino for a title shot. He was instead confronted by Ren Narita of House of Torture who asked for a title match for himself. Moxley defeated Narita at Wrestling Dontaku 2024 night 2. Moxley then successfully defended the title against Shota Umino at the Resurgence 2024 event. After the match, Evil and Ren Narita of House of Torture attacked Moxley. Evil challenged Moxley for a title match, spray-painted the title belt, and stood on top of Moxley. NJPW later announced that Moxley would defend the title against Evil at Dominion.

NEVER Openweight Championship: United Empire’s Henare appeared in a video package at the Resurgence event to challenge for the NEVER Openweight title against the winner of the Shingo Takagi vs Yuya Uemera match at the event. Takagi retained the title against Uemera at the event. NJPW later announced a match between Henare and Takagi at Dominion.

BOSJ 31 Final: The final of the Best of Super Junior 31 tournament will also take place at the event. Two toppers from Block A and Block B were supposed to clash in the semifinals of the tournament with the winners facing off in the final at Dominion.
