WWE RAW January 8: CM Punk, Cody vs Nakamura, More Announced
Cody Rhodes vs Shinsuke Nakamura match and CM Punk are announced for WWE RAW January 8, 2024 edition, along with the women’s tag team title match.
There were reports that CM Punk was backstage for WWE Day 1 RAW edition, but WWE made it clear that he would not appear this week as they announced his appearance for next week. Punk has only appeared twice on RAW so far since his return to WWE at Survivor Series.
There are speculations that Punk’s first televised match will take place before Royal Rumble. He has already faced Dominik Mysterio on house shows last week in non-televised matches.
Cody Rhodes vs Shinsuke Nakamura match on December 11 edition of RAW ended in a no disqualification. On December 18 RAW, Cody attacked Nakamura once again after his promo from backstage.
Cody was in the ring on Day 1 RAW episode this week and called out Nakamura for a match right away. However, Nakamura replied from the big screen that he would make Cody wait for one more week.
Women’s Tag Team Champions Katana Chance and Kayden Carter will defend the titles against Chelsea Green and Piper Niven in a rematch. Green and Niven interrupted the champions’ party to tell them that they were going to SmackDown Manager Nick Aldis to ask for a rematch. Chance and Carter replied that they did not need to do that as they would give them the rematch. Chance and Carter won the titles two weeks ago by beating Green and Niven.
WWE RAW January 8, 2024 episode will be airing from Moda Center in Portland, OR. The current line-up for the show is as follows:
